Race cars are not usually considered environmentally friendly, but NASCAR and the Michigan International Speedway, or MIS, are working to turn motorsports green. MIS President Roger Curtis says that many people do not connect sustainability with a racetrack, but the fans in the grandstand do care about the environment.
